Eagle River Post 8 rocks Dimond Post 21 in first round of American Legion baseball touranament

Bolstered by an eight-run first inning Thursday, Eagle River Post 8 slugged its way to a 13-9 win over Dimond Post 21 in the first round of the Todd Ryan Memorial Tournament, an American Legion baseball event at Wasilla's McManus Field.

Eagle River's Trent Talley pitched into the sixth inning for a win, with Colby Leblanc, R.J. Dirscherl and Lauren Frost all recording doubles for the Wolves.

Grant Remmer, Mahlon Cleveland and Preston Micheleto each collected two hits for Dimond, with Cleveland and Micheleto adding two RBIs apiece.
