Letter: Huge banner in neighborhood offensive and should be moved

July 5, 2013

For many, many months now, almost on a daily basis, in my neighborhood I have had to look at a big 4 by 12 banner that says “Shame On…” some clinic at the Alaska Regional Hospital. I am not sure what constructive purpose it should have on us passersby. The banner is a huge distraction for drivers in this heavy flow traffic area and a general nuisance to the neighborhood.

I would say to the sponsors of this “Shame On” campaign, there is nothing we can do, especially since my opinion of any business is based on my own direct experience. If this business has done you wrong, pursue legal action but please stop trying to sway public opinion in this intrusive and obnoxious manner.
