Search for elderly Anchorage man called off

Associated PressJuly 22, 2013

Alaska State Troopers say an official search for an 81-year-old Anchorage man has been called off more than a week after he went missing.

KTUU says a multiagency search for Wallace Wilkinson Dunn continued Saturday to no avail. Troopers spokeswoman Megan Peters says the search is now called off pending further leads.

Anchorage police say Dunn was last seen July 12 by employees at his gym.

Police say Dunn's family last saw him the day before at a soccer game in Anchorage's Waldron Lake area. Police say Dunn told his family he was going to spend the weekend at his cabin near Big Lake.

Dunn's vehicle was found parked and locked about two miles from his cabin.
