Time for Back-to-School Immunizations*

City Health Department expands Immunization Clinic hours for back-to-school*

The new school year is just around the corner and that means back-to-school immunizations. The Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) would like to remind parents that Alaska law requires that children be up-to-date on the required immunizations to attend school.

In anticipation of a busy back-to-school season, DHHS is expanding its summer Immunization Clinic hours. Between July  29 and August 16, the Clinic will be open 8:30am – 4:30pm Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. The Department of Health and Human Services Immunization Clinic is located at 825 L Street, First Floor.

Services are provided on a first come, first served, walk-in basis. Cost is based on a sliding fee scale. Children must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian to receive immunizations. Please be sure to bring your child’s shot record and  if insured, their insurance card.  Parents may also check with primary care providers or local walk-in clinics for availability of school immunizations, as they  may be able to make an appointment and incur less wait time.

For more information, please call the Immunization Clinic at 343-4799 or visit muni.org/health.
