A drunken man damaged The Roadhouse restaurant in Talkeetna and then assaulted a trooper after his arrest, according to an Alaska State Troopers online dispatch.

Troopers say Augustus Shoulders, 19, of Talkeetna caused the disturbance around 3 a.m. Sunday in the historic building.

Shoulders, who was "highly intoxicated," caused about $2,000 in damage to the inside of the cafe, according to the online post.

Shoulders also challenged another person to a fight and then tried to damage a trooper patrol car. After his arrest, officials say, Shoulders assaulted a trooper while en route to the Mat-Su Pretrial Facility.

The trooper wasn't injured in the attack and didn't require medical attention, said Megan Peters, spokeswoman for Alaska State Troopers.
