Wine of the week: 2011 Pinot Gris

AnchorageAugust 1, 2013

I am always getting asked about organic wines. Well here's a great one. The Montinore Estate is 230 acres of Demeter and Stellar certified biodynamic organic vineyards in Oregon. They make Pinot Noir and a host of whites. But with this summer's heat I'd like you to try their 2011 Pinot Gris. Its delicate white fruit perfume and firm citrus mouth linger into melon and mineral. Quite refreshing and will hold a good chill. It's a perfect backdrop for Alaska's seafood. Cost about $15.
