TV series shooting out of Girdwood

Posted on August 13, 2013

Alaska filmmakers Dirk Collins and Chris Owens are working out of Girdwood on a new series for Outside Television.

“The focus of the show is the life of guides around the world with the repeating touchstone of the crew of Chugach Powder Guides in Girdwood,” Owens said.

“Epic Quest,” the name of the Girdwood adventure sport company featured in the six hour-long shows, is described as “a story-driven original docudrama” following thrill-seekers incomparable trips into the most remote and untamable places on Earth.” Heli-ski pilots and powder guides lead adventurers into virgin Alaska snow. Trekkers also go to the Amazonian wilds and the savannahs of Africa. But the first six episodes are all set in Alaska. Owens says subsequent shows will return to the Girdwood locale as a fixed motif.

The show will begin to air in October. Here's a link to the trailer.
