Smart dogs at the fair Sunday

AnchorageAugust 24, 2013

This is one of my favorite animal events of the year. If you're going to the State Fair today and love dogs, stop by the Corral between 11 a.m. and 6 p.m. You'll see Alaska dogs doing a variety of dog sports you don't want to miss.

Here's the schedule for Sunday, Aug. 25.

11 a.m. —  Alaska Winds Coursing Club, fun with Alaska’s fastest dogs

Noon — AKC Alaska Herding Group Club, all-breed sheepdog herding demo

1 p.m. —  Alyeska Canine Trainers, incredible canines

2 and 4:30 p.m. —  Alaska Dogs Gone Wild, fast flyball fun

2:30 p.m. —  The Better Companion, Treibball and Nose Work Demo

3:30 and 5 p.m. —  AK K-9 Weight Pull

4 and 5:30 p.m. —  Northern Borderz Disc Dogs

6 p.m. —  Hundesport, Schutzhund working dogs
