Updating former Aces, and another UAF recruit

Just a quick update to track a couple of former Alaska Aces and report another recruit headed to UAF.

Former Aces winger Matt Robinson, who started the season with the club last fall before moving back to Wichita of the Central Hockey League, has re-signed with the Thunder. In 30 games for Wichita last season, Robinson went 12-17--30 and helped the Thunder to the league finals for the second straight season. Robinson, 28, is heading into his eighth pro season.

Also, former Aces defenseman Mark Isherwood is headed across the pond again. Isherwood, 24 and entering his fourth pro season, played in Italy two seasons ago. This time, he's headed to Angers in France. In 50 combined games for ECHL Utah and San Francisco last season, Ish earned 6-14--20 totals.

UAF has a commitment from forward Ambrose Firkus -- that's quite a handle -- of the BCHL's West Kelowna Warriors. Firkus will join the Nanooks next fall. In 31 regular-season games for the Warriors last campaign, Firkus delivered 11-9--20 totals. He apparently stepped up his game in the postseason -- witness his 6-3--9 totals in 10 playoff games.
