AnchorageSeptember 3, 2013

Anchorage’s David Hamilton fired rounds of 65 and 70 last weekend in the Eagleglen Open to become the second amateur to win the 36-hole event at Eagleglen golf course.

Anchorage golf pro Billy Bomar finished one shot back with a 6-under 136. That was good enough to win the professional division by six shots over Casey Cusack, who won the event as an amateur in 2010.

Terri McAngus won the women’s championship by 22 strokes, backing up a first-round 76 with a 74 for a 150 total.

Scott Taylor, of Monroe, Wash., shot a second-round 66 to finish with a 136 total and win his second senior title by a stroke over Anchorage amateur Brad Pitzer.
