In exciting ECHL exhibition season news you absolutely must know...

Look, had to try to lure you in somehow, and the headline's really the only way.

In any event, the ECHL today issued a press release detailing the 25 exhibition games league members will play in October -- just a heads-up: The Alaska Aces entertain the Cincinnati Cyclones, Tuesday and Wednesday, Oct. 8-9 at Sullivan Arena.

We knew that. But get a load of the Las Vegas Wranglers and Wheeling Nailers, both of which are going to play four exhibition games. And get this: The Wranglers are playing their four preseason games in five days on a journey that begins with two games in Colorado, followed by a travel day, followed by a game at Ontario, followed by a matinee against visiting Ontario.

Wheeling, at least, plays its four exhibitions over an eight-day period.

Kalamazoo, Fort Wayne, Bakersfield and San Francisco are each playing three exhibitions.

And 21 of the circuit's 22 teams will play in the preseason. The lone holdout: the Evansville Icemen.
