Service tennis team nips East

Service won all of the doubles matches and East won all of the singles matches, leading to Service’s 5-4 team victory Friday in a Cook Inlet Conference tennis meet.

The decisive match came when Service’s Fiona Bruce and Sarada Pradad won a 10-3 tiebreaker to hold off East’s Kate Alversado and Morgan Rice in the only match that wasn’t decided in straight sets.

Boys singles 1 — Eli Nesland (E) d. Nathan Rabang (S), 6-0,6-0. Boys singles 2 — Elmer Bungay (E) d. Ben Erickson (S), 7-6 (7-2), 6-4. Girls singles 1 — Ellen Rumley (E) d. Lindsay VonTish (S), 6-1, 6-0. Girls singles 2 — Abby McDiffett (E) d. Sam Moorhead (S), 6-2, 6-0. Boys doubles 1 — Aden Moon/Christian Morgan (S) d. Will Kim/Alex Balasai (E), 6-3, 6-1. Boys doubles 2 — Ian Kroloff/ Nicholai Benko (S) d. Ari Hinrichs/Kong Chew Yang (E), 6-0, 6-0. Girls doubles 1 — Fiona Bruce/Sarada Prasad (S) d. Kate Alversado/Morgan Rice(E), 2-6, 6-4, (10-3). Girls doubles 2 — Megan Lillis/Alliana Salanguit (S) d. Laura Horton/Erica Williams (E), 6-2, 6-4. Mixed doubles — Huiling Zhao/Matthew Stone (S) d. Olivia Grant/Jesse Wright-Crask (E), 6-3, 6-3.
