Eielson 71, Barrow 14
Tony Griffith bolstered his statistics while leading Eielson to a 71-14 romp over Barrow in a Greatland Conference game Saturday in Barrow.
Griffth scored six touchdowns and rushed for more than 300 yards to bring his season totals to 16 touchdowns and more than 1,000 rushing yards -- numbers accumulated in four games. Yet his most electrifying scoring play against Barrow came on defense, when he raced 93 yards with an interception.
Jaheem Prioleau and Kaleb Dunlap each added a pair of touchdowns for the Ravens (3-1 overall, 3-0 Greatland).
Homer 30, Skyview 0
Homer's first win of the season spoiled Skyview's homecoming Saturday.
Homer quarterback Sheldon Hutt fired two touchdown passes and a ran for another in a 30-0 Northern Lights Conference win. Homer improved to 1-2 and Skyview fell to 1-2
All the scoring took place in the first half, and Homer didn't take long to get on the scoreboard. The Mariners scored on the game's first play from scrimmage when Hutt found Mario Glosser with a 74-yard touchdown pass.
Hutt punched a touchdown run from the 4-yard line and followed with another touchdown pass to Glosser, this time from 29 yards out.
Glosser booted a 40-yard field goal to put Homer up 24-0, and Joseph Cardoza raced in for the final score on a three-yard run in the final minute of the first half.
Nikiski 56, Seward 6
Nikiski rushed for 362 yards and passed for 121 in Saturday's 56-6 Greatland Conference triumph over visiting Seward.
Michael Stangel led the rushing attack with 90 yards on six carries, and Dennis Anderson did the bulk of the passing, completing 7 of 12 attempts for 97 yards.
The Bulldogs led 44-6 after the first quarter.
Monroe 35, Valdez 2
Scooter Bynum scored on a pick-six and a long reception Saturday in Monroe's 35-2 Greatland Conference win over Valdez.
