Letter: Leave God out of argument

After reading “Pilgrim’s Wilderness” by Tom Kizzia I was reminded of how common it is for people to justify their actions by picking the words they desire out of the Bible. (In Papa Pilgrim’s case, more than a dozen bibles.) 

Please, if you have a need to be prejudiced against a segment of our community, just admit it, rather than seeking out a religious group that supports your views, and then pointing to that religion as proof of God’s will in the matter. It will be better for society, and better for God’s reputation.
