Letter: Money that would go to new road could be better spent elsewhere

September 9, 2013

While we get all the song and dance about the so-called “road” saving lives, how many will die using that road? So, yes, people will do stupid things like they always do: They will drive it in bad weather, inebriated, drugged and just plain badly.

And for all the song and dance, how many people have died because there is no road? I cannot recall one King Cove death,  road related or not in all the years I have been hearing it.

Spend the money on health support for the entire Western Alaska community  system where it would do real good, not PR spin.
