South, West tennis teams triumph

South served bagels in two matches Monday on its way to a 7-2 victory over Dimond.

Neither Cole Fox nor the girls double team of Palden Flynn and Zoey Flynn lost a game their straight-set wins, with Fox’s 6-0, 6-0 win over Alex Wong coming in boys singles play.

West 8, Eagle River 1

West’s Nasim Falconer and Aleah Kennedy won an 11-9 tiebreaker to post a girls double victory Monday that helped West claim an 8-1 team win over Eagle River in a CookInlet Conference tennis meet.

Falconer and Kennedy took a 3-6, 6-3, 11-9 victory over the Eagle River duo of Mary Stone and Dana Bernhardt, the day’s only match that went to a tiebreaker.
