Arrivederci, Garry Nunn

Posted by DOYLE WOODY, adn.com on September 10, 2013

Garry Nunn, whose three-plus seasons with the ECHL's Alaska Aces made him the club's longest tenured current player, won't be adding to that resume with the only pro club he's known -- Nunn, according to eliteprospects.com, has signed to play for Valpellice in Italy.

Nunn, known for his surpassing speed, last season notched career highs in all three scoring categories with 17-32--49 totals in 65 games. In 214 career regular-season games with Alaska, he put up 44-85--127 totals. He earned 4-13--17 totals in 28 playoff games.

In Italy, he will play for coach Mike Flanagan, who The Blog was surprised to discover was head coach and general manager of the NAHL's Kenai River Brown Bears in 2007-08, according to eliteprosects.com

Best of luck to Nunn, who always treated The Blog well.
