Petro Star announces staffing changes

Petro Star Inc., a subsidiary of Arctic Slope Regional Corporation, recently appointed Mark John to Vice President - Business Development & Marketing.  Joining Mark in the new group are Orval Holmes, Director of Business Development; Nicole Stewart, Marketing & Communications Manager; and Angelene Faulkner, Community Economic Development Specialist.


John has served Petro Star for 13-years. Prior to joining the company, he specialized in new business development in refinery related industries.   Mark will retain responsibility for the company’s aviation sales.


Holmes has been with Petro Star for more than 27-years. He brings a wealth of petroleum market knowledge and commonsense insight to the new position.


Previously, Stewart was the Marketing Manager for Petro Star’s Sourdough Fuel division In Fairbanks. She will be bringing her 12 years of expertise in public relations and marketing to the corporation as a whole.  


Faulkner is Petro Star’s first Community Economic Development (CED) Specialist. Her ties to the community of Anaktuvuk Pass will be key to Petro Star’s efforts to expand economic opportunities in the village.


Don Castle has been appointed to Vice President, Sales & Operations.  In addition to his leadership of Petro Star’s marine and heating fuel divisions, he will now oversee the company’s retail and lubricant divisions.


At the Fairbanks based Sourdough Fuel division, Doug Richmond, who has been with the company for 31 years, has accepted the new position of Director – Sourdough Fuel Sales & Operations.  Richmond will oversee the retail and heating oil groups, a role for which he is uniquely qualified.


Advancing to Sourdough Fuel as Retail Sales and Operations Manager is Greg Machacek. In addition, Lynette Taylor has been promoted to Retail Operations Supervisor.   Both Machacek  and Taylor have 12-years of experience in the company’s retail group.


Jamie Olthoff continues to head the Heating Oil team as Operations Manager. Olthoff began his career with Sourdough Fuel as the Field Sales Manager and has 11 years of experience in fuel sales and management.
