The Alaska Aces this morning announced the signings of two more returners for the upcoming season in defenseman Dustin Molle of Anchorage and winger Spencer Bennett.
Molle, 27, who will be entering his fourth pro season, last season furnished the club stability on the blueline, and toughness. In 55 games -- and he was a guy who got better as the season progressed -- he contributed five assists and a +9 rating that ranked fifth on the team. He also accumulated 141 penalty minutes, which included a team-high 17 fighting majors.
Molle began his college career at UAA, but transferred and spent most of it at UAF.
Bennett, 22, still is getting started in his pro career, even as he enters his third pro season. Between injuries and being a victim of the numbers game, he has played just 40 regular-season pro games in two seasons. The Aces acquired him in a trade with ECHL Orlando last season, and in 22 games for Alaska, he earned 8-6--14 and +8 totals.
This makes 14 players the Aces have announced for 2013-14 -- seven forwards, six defensemen and one goalie.
