UAA captains: Bailey, Cameron; assistant captains: Kwas, Sproule

First-year UAA head coach Matt Thomas today announced his captains and assistant captains -- all four guys are seniors.

Wearing a "C'' will be center Matt Bailey and winger Brett Cameron. Bailey is arguably the Seawolves' best all-around player -- he can score, he brings grit and he's a two-way center. Cameron missed most of last season with a broken collarbone that required surgery, so his return to the lineup will be welcomed.

Assistant captains will be winger Jordan Kwas and defenseman Quinn Sproule, who played a lot of wing last season under then-coach Dave Shyiak.

Senior goaltenders Chris Kamal and Rob Gunderson will round out the leadership group. That group is one a coach usually uses as a sounding board and a way to keep his finger on the pulse of the players.

The Seawolves have a Green & Gold game next Saturday, the 21st, at UAA.
