Sierra Rosenzweig scored both touchdowns Tuesday in East’s 12-0 Cook Inlet Conference flag football victory over Eagle River.
Rosenzweig scored once on offense and once on defense in the game at Anchorage Football Stadium, rushing 30 yards on a reverse for one touchdown and returning an interception 40 yards for the other.
East improved to 2-4.
South 20, West 13
Two interceptions by Brenna Johnson and one by Maddie Jungswirth propelled South past West 20-13 Tuesday in CIC flag football action at South.
The win improved South to 5-1.
Jungswirth’s interception set up South’s first touchdown, a 5-yard run by Hailey Hakala on the first play after the turnover.
Julia Carmack added two touchdown passes, a 3-yarder to Hailey Hodgson and a 20-yarder to Claire Lovering, who ran another 20 yards after the reception.
West struck first for a 6-0 lead and scored again in the third quarter. Anna Sophia-Roberts had nine pulls and Maya McPherson seven to lead the Eagles.
“It was a really good defensive game,” West coach Travis Cantrell said. “They had a lot of speed. They’re a very good team. We had to throw the ball a lot more than usual.”
Dimond 34, Service 0
Malia Lyken caught two touchdowns passes and rushed for 115 yards and two more touchdowns Tuesday in undefeated Dimond’s 34-0 romp over Service in a CIC game at Dimond.
Lyken’s nine carries included touchdown runs of 14 and 28 yards. She also scored on passes of 7 and 31 yards from Tara Thompson, who completed all three of her passes for 48 yards and rushed for another 99 yards.
Vanessa Tufaga rushed for 55 yards on seven carries, including a 10-yard touchdown run, and added seven pulls and an interception for the Lynx (6-0). Also contributing on defense were Whitney Jackson (7 pulls, 1 interception), Abby Corral (7 pulls) and Neno Martinez (1 interception).
Chugiak 31, Bartlett 7
Ashleigh Sitz threw four touchdown passes to lead Chugiak past Bartlett 31-7 in flag football Tuesday night at AFS.
Sitz connected with Holly Brehmer three times and once with Alexis Oldham.
Alise Arnold threw a TD pass to Kylie Baker for the Mustangs’ other score.
