Palmer volleyball team outduels West in five-set thriller

Macey Buresh handed out 31 assists and Mariah McNamara piled up 15 kills and four aces Tuesday in Palmer’s thrilling five-set volleyball victory over West.

The Moose won the nonconference match 25-27, 25-21, 25-21, 20-25, 15-6.

Rita Dexter and Rebecca Jones slammed 11 kills each and Annett Faafetai dished out 38 assists for West, which was led defensively by Diana Lobontiu (13 digs) and Hana Lance (8 digs).

 

Grace 3, ACS 0

The Grace Christian volleyball team totaled 36 blocks Tuesday in a 25-11, 25-23, 25-20 sweep of rival Anchorage Christian.

Krista Green’s nine blocks and Felicity Roe’s eight led the Grizzlies, who also got six blocks apiece from Heather Green and Kinley Hickok.

Heather Green served four aces and added a team-high 12 kills; Krista Green served six aces; Hickok added five kills and Roe furnished 12 assists and three kills.

 

Colony 3, Eagle River 1

Sophie Hall's 13 kills and six blocks led Colony to a four-set victory over Eagle River in a nonconference volleyball match Tuesday at Colony.

Chelsea Friesen contributed 14 digs and four aces in the Knights' 25-18, 11-25, 25-16, 25-19 victory.
