Sure, it's only exhibition season, but Dubinsky had a big night

Posted by DOYLE WOODY, on September 18, 2013

Our man Brandon Dubinsky of Anchorage, who we can forever more call a former Alaska Ace even though a fuller description would be "NHL regular,'' came up large tonight in the Columbus Blue Jackets' 5-4 come-from-behind, NHL exhibition win over the Carolina Hurricanes.

Dubinsky furnished three assists, a +3 rating, 10 shots on goal, four hits and two blocks, and won 10 of 19 draws in a whopping 22:48 of ice time.

Tonight marked Dubinsky's second exhibition appearance in the three preseason games the Blue Jackets have played. He is not lacking for ice time. In his other appearance, he logged 22:36, so he's getting, the numbers show, time at even strength, on the power play and on the penalty kill.
