West and Dimond each earn 8-1 victories in CIC tennis Wednesday

West 8 East 1

West rocked East on the tennis courts at the Alaska Club East on Wednesday, earning an 8-1 Cook Inlet Conference win behind wins in all five doubles matches and three of the four singles matches. 

Reed Lekander and Chas Anderson won singles matches for the West boys and Ellen Silverman added a singles triumph the West girls.

 East’s only win came from Ellen Rumley in girls singles.

Dimond 8, Chugiak 1

Dimond won all but the mixed doubles match against Chugiak on Wednesdayto run away with an 8-1 CIC tennis victory at The Alaska Club North. 

One Dimond victory needed a third-set tie breaker, with Dimond’s Noah Alexander and Kyle Stone teaming for the 3-6, 7-6 (7-3), 10-3 win over Chugiak’s Daniel Ogden and Jacob Shercliffe in boys doubles.

South takes two 

The South tennis team only surrendered three sets Tuesday at the Alaska Club East, where the Wolverines swept Bartlett 9-0 and knocked off Service 8-1 in a CIC dual meet.
