PayByPhone parking expands to Fourth Avenue street sites

Anchorage Daily NewsSeptember 19, 2013

— Drivers parking along Fourth Avenue can now pay for street parking with a smartphone app.

Anchorage Community Development Authority’s parking division, EasyPark, has announced the expansion of PayByPhone parking to Fourth Avenue. EasyPark rolled out the mobile payment service at its parking lots during 2009.

New colored pole covers on Fourth Avenue indicate 2-hour (grey), 10-hour (orange), and disabled (blue) parking options along with PayByPhone information on how to sign up.

PayByPhone parking payments are done one of two ways: users can download the PayByPhone App or call 1-888-450-7275. Customers will then enter the parking meter’s location number and license plate number (street parking only) or space number (parking lot only) and the amount of time desired.

A free account consisting of a credit/debit card and license plate can be setup quickly via the app or by phone at the parking space, or online at paybyphone.com. EasyPark will expand to all downtown street meters during the summer of 2014, the agency said in a written statement.
