Earlier story:

Dave Chappelle will perform at the Carlson Center in Fairbanks on Oct. 8. No Anchorage performance has been announced for the comedian, who made news when he dropped out of his successful skit and music show on Comedy Central.

“Chappelle's Show” debuted in 2003 and proved highly popular. But he abruptly left the show in May, 2005. He later told Time magazine he was dissatisfied with the show and also expressed unhappiness with the heavy work schedule the show required. He began making stand-up appearances again in 2007 and returned to fulltime stand-up touring in August of this year.

Tickets for Chappelle's 8 p.m. Fairbanks show will be available at ticketmaster.com on Saturday. The price of the tickets had not been announced at press time.
