Typically, expletives are not used in their entirety in reporting. I appreciate this, as I don’t like “4 letter words.” However, in “Alaskans drink more” by Kyle Hopkins (September 16) a man is quoted as saying, “You’ve got licenses all over the g--d--n place,” but the word is written out. I find this even more offensive than expletives. Is it now acceptable to take God’s name in vain in the paper? Yes, I realize it was not a capital “G.” I don’t think it makes a difference.
You hear a lot of talk these days about being careful not to offend others. Well, I’m offended. I realize that many people take the Lord’s name in vain. Do you have to report it?
