Aces winger Sivak (well, on paper) shines in AHL preseason

Posted by DOYLE WOODY, on September 24, 2013

Peter Sivak has yet to arrive in Alaska -- the veteran winger was signed the ECHL's Alaska Aces in the offseason -- and in the meantime he was impressive at the AHL level the other night.

Sivak, who sniped 33 goals last season for ECHL San Francisco and added four more in nine AHL games, furnished the Abbotsford Heat one goal and one assist Sunday in a 5-2 exhibition win over Utica.

Sivak played on a line with Ben Hanowski (2-1--3) and Brett Olson (1-2--3), so it's not like he was logging fourth-line duty for Abbotsford, the Aces' new affiliate.

All of which begs the question: Could Sivak stick in Abbotsbord? Of course, that would be great for him. Not so much for the Aces, who see Sivak as likely being their first-line right wing.
