Letter: How big of a surplus do we have?

September 24, 2013

Reading what the city attorney and our mayor had to say in reference to the appeal of the labor law petition, I thought I was in the comic section and the comic was titled Wheeler & Sullivan. I am sure Nathaniel Herz is a great reporter, but I think what Mr. Wheeler said about the $19,000 being a tiny amount is that one city attorney and other outside consulting lawyers could burn that up in no time. Then to read the comments that someone who has spearheaded this joke of an ordinance is not involved in the review — yeah, right.

What I would like to know is how big of a surplus is there, now that we are still working under the same contracts that Wheeler & Sullivan say we can’t afford?

Thanks for the laugh boys!
