Flag football: Service, Eagle River win

Eagle River 13, Bartlett 7

Lauren Frost had a big day Saturday to help the Eagle River flag football team to a 13-7 Cook Inlet Conference win over Bartlett at Eagle River High. 

Frost threw two touchdown passes, both to Tara Fisher, and intercepted two Bartlett passes. Frost’s first touchdown pass was a 65-yarder on the first play of the game and her second scoring pass was a 10-yarder to take the lead in the fourth quarter. 

Service 21, West 6

Julia Miknich threw three touchdown passes and Zoe Bailey had a touchdown and two interceptions Saturday to fuel Service’s 21-6 flag football win over West at Anchorage Football Stadium.

Miknich completed 19 of 26 passes, five of them to Kyla Pearce. Catching touchdown passes were Bailey (20 yards), Hayleigh VanAllen (25 yards) and Shannon Wilson (15 yards).  

Mariah Williams and Allison Stassell anchored Service’s defense with five pulls apiece.

West’s Anna-Sophia Roberts scored her team’s only touchdown on an interception return that forged a 6-6 halftime tie.
