Our man J.J. racks an NHL exhibition goal

Our man Justin Johnson of Anchorage -- J.J. to all -- and his journey from college walk-on at UAA to ECHL part-timer to ECHL full-timer to AHLer to NHL training camper got even better on Sunday.

J.J. racked a goal in the New York Islanders' 5-2 split-squad win over Ottawa in Barrie, Ontario.

Can't find any video of J.J.'s goal, which went five-hole on Robin Lehner, but the Isles' website came through with a quote from our man.

"It was a big thrill, that's pretty much all I can say,'' Johnson said. "(Alan) quine and Brett (Gallant) and I were skating around the neutral zone and the puck popped loose. Quine made a nice, soft pass to me. Luckily it went in.''
