UAA volleyball players Katelyn Zanders and Quinn Barker, instrumental in the league-leading Seawolves' sweep of two Great Northwest Athletic Conference road matches last week, each earned conference honors for their contributions.
Zanders, a sophomore, claimed the Offensive Player of the Week award after furnishing 27 kills, 19 digs and five aces in victories at Central Washington and Northwest Nazarene.
Barker, a junior libero, generated 41 digs and seven aces on the trip, which earned her a share of the Defensive Player of the Week honor.
The Seawolves (10-6, 4-0), who have won four straight matches, all in conference play, are one of just two teams unbeaten in GNAC play -- Western Washington (9-1, 2-0) is the other unbeaten. Western Washington this week is ranked ninth nationally.
UAA, which is 6-1 at home, this week plays two home matches at the Wells Fargo Sports Complex. The Seawolves on Thursday entertain Western Oregon (5-8, 2-1 GNAC) and on Saturday welcome Saint Martin's (4-11, 0-3 GNAC).
