Time to go (training) camping, Aces-style

The puck already has dropped in various North American junior leagues, it drops tonight in the NHL, they're practicing over at UAA and now comes confirmation that the ECHL's Alaska Aces this week will open their training camp -- the big day drops Friday, Cowbell Crew.

Aces camp gets under way Friday at 10 a.m. at Ben Boeke Arena, and that gives the club several days of practice before its annual Paint The Rink Pink exhibition games, which are scheduled against the Cincinnati Cyclones, Oct. 8-9 (that's a Tuesday and a Wednesday) at Sullivan Arena.

Training camp practices are open to the public, folks, so be sure bring your scouting notebooks to some sessions to check out the crew and glean the information necessary to be a true, as it were, any-morning (power-play) quarterback.

Friday, Oct. 4 -- Ben Boeke Arena, 10 a.m.

Saturday, Oct. 5 -- Day off.

Sunday, Oct. 6 -- Ben Boeke, 10 a.m.

Monday, Oct. 7 -- Ben Boeke, 10 a.m.

Tuesday, Oct. 8 -- Sullivan Arena (morning skate, 10 a.m.); 7:15 exhibition game vs. Cincinnati.

Wednesday, Oct. 9 -- Sullivan Arena (morning skate, 10 a.m.); 7:15 exhibition game vs. Cincinnati.

Thursday, Oct. 10 -- Day off.

Friday, Oct. 11 -- Ben Boeke, 10 a.m.

Saturday, Oct. 12 -- Day off.

Sunday, Oct. 13 -- Ben Boeke, 10 a.m.

Monday, Oct. 14 -- Ben Boeke, 10 a.m.
