Here are your Alaska connections in the NHL

Posted by DOYLE WOODY, adn.com on October 1, 2013

The NHL season started tonight, so The Blog toured the rosters and found 10 Alaska connections -- five guys from Anchorage and five others who played either college hockey or ECHL hockey in the state.

Here are the dudes:

Boston Bruins -- Former UAF goaltender Chad Johnson.

Calgary Flames -- Former UAA winger Curtis Glencross.

Columbus Blue Jackets -- Center Brandon Dubinsky of Anchorage, who played part of last season for the Alaska Aces because of the NHL lockout.

Florida Panthers -- Center Scott Gomez of Anchorage and winger Joey Crabb of Anchorage, who both played for the Aces last season.

St. Louis Blues -- Winger Ryan Reaves, who served a short stint with the Aces.

Tampa Bay Lightning -- Defenseman Matt Carle of Anchorage and center Nate Thompson of Anchorage -- the latter played with the Aces last season until the lockout ended.

Washington Capitals -- Former UAA center Jay Beagle.

Winnipeg Jets -- Former Aces winger Anthony Peluso.
