One Idaho man was killed and two Utah men injured in a single-car accident on the Steese Highway on Tuesday morning.
Jason Johnson, 29, of Utah, was driving the 2008 Ford F-250 northbound when he hit ice on a curve near Mile 17, causing the truck to roll down a 30-foot embankment with Michael Hiatt, 26, of Utah, and Lacey Buttram, 39, of Idaho, inside.
Johnson and Hiatt were taken to Fairbanks Memorial Hospital for non-life-threatening injuries. Buttram died soon after officials arrived.
Police are still investigating.
