Morrison Auto Group of Anchorage, known for its high-end line of vehicles, is now under the Kendall Auto Group banner.

Kendall acquired Morrison as of Thursday, according to Dave Blewett, Kendall's president. New signs are going up at Morrison this week. The consolidation of the dealers gives Kendall new brands to offer: Porsche, Audi and Volkswagen.

Most of Morrison's 50 to 55 employees stayed on, Blewett said. Rick Morrison is moving on to "greener pastures," he said, and some of his staff left with him.

Kendall has 375 employees in Alaska now.

The two men are longtime friends and brokered the sale together starting in the spring, Blewett said. "It's Rick and I doing it."

Kendall, which is family-owned, operates dealerships in Oregon, Idaho, Montana and Alaska. Blewett estimated Kendall's annual sales for 2012 at $850 million, with Alaska accounting for about half of that.

He declined to provide Morrison's sales. Rick Morrison wasn't available for an interview Thursday morning.
