Anchorage's William Wrenn off to solid start in AHL

Posted by DOYLE WOODY, on October 6, 2013

Defenseman William Wrenn of Anchorage, who had a strong rookie campaign for the Alaska Aces last season and earned 23 games worth of work in the AHL, is off to a solid start this season for the AHL's Texas Stars.

Wrenn, 22, has been +1 in each of two games, a win Saturday at Chicago and a home loss Sunday to Rockford.

Wrenn last season played 19 games for Texas, with 2-5--7 totals and a +3 rating, and also played three games for AHL Worcester.

He's started this season with Texas on an AHL deal, so he's making good progress as a second-year pro. Wrenn is a former second-round draft pick of the San Jose Sharks.
