UAA's Kwas, UAF's Parayko earn WCHA honors

Posted by DOYLE WOODY, on October 15, 2013

UAA senior winger Jordan Kwas today was named the WCHA's Offensive Player of the Week and UAF sophomore defenseman Colton Parayko was honored as the circuit's Defensive Player of the Week.

Both excelled in the last week's season-opening Kendall Hockey Classic, where Kwas was voted Most Outstanding Player and led UAA to its third straight title, and Parayko joined him on the all-tournament team.

Kwas notched his first career hat trick and first four-point game Saturday in a come-from-behind 4-2 win over Air Force. In two tournament games, he fired five shots on goal and finished +2.

Parayko delivered three assists in two games, fired six shots and went a combined +3.
