In the state of Alaska, we have a diverse population. Galvanizing us is our deep love for this place and what it means to live here. Despite what Gov. Sean Parnell thinks, we all have the right to follow law-abiding ways to make our beliefs known and defend our views. This is often played out in disagreement over natural resource development.
It is not right for him to penalize Vic Fischer and Bella Hammond for their work on the Pebble Mine. How dare he jeopardize their financial well-being because of his personal stance on resource development which is “anything goes.”
Vic Fischer is one of our few remaining founding fathers remaining and has more credibility than Gov. Parnell will ever build. Bella Hammond is the widow of the most effective and forward thinking governor we have ever had and no doubt was a wise sounding board for him.
Gov. Parnell has reached a new low by pursuing a lawsuit against them both. Knock it off and do the business of governing , not the business of destroying lives.
