Rash claims 7th career PBA bowling title

AnchorageOctober 23, 2013

Anchorage's Sean Rash, the reigning Professional Bowlers Association player of the year, claimed his seventh career PBA Tour title last weekend in Thailand.

Rash won the World Bowling Tour's Thailand title, and a $32,140 paycheck, by beating Mika Koivuniemi of Hartland, Mich., in the finals at Bangkok's Blu-O Bowling Center.

Rash beat Koivuniemi 235-225 and 245-228. Koivuniemi was the tournament's top qualifier, so Rash had to defeat him twice.

The two may meet again in the World Bowling Tour men's final Nov. 3 in Las Vegas. Rash enters as the top qualifier and will meet the winner of the preliminary match between No. 2 Koivuniemi and No. 3 Mike Fagan of Fort Worth, Texas.
