Letter: Murkowski best beware tea party fringe, lest it kick her butt again

October 23, 2013

I have subscribe to the theory that “where there is smoke, there is fire.” There has been much smoke regarding the “Affordable Care Act.” Why is this Obamacare such a controversy? I believe that Obamacare has little to do with health care, and much to do with controlling the population, and millions of people are not happy with getting this shoved down their throats.

So the battle rages on between the Senate, controlled by Democrats, and the House, controlled by Republicans. Sen. Ted Cruz, a Republican from Texas, makes a courageous stand, denouncing this train-wreck legislation. There is a glimmer of hope that this thing can be de-funded. A government shutdown ensues. Alaska Sen. Lisa Murkowski, supporting Maine Sen. Susan Collins, undermines the valiant effort to derail this Obamacare disaster, and it becomes business as usual in Washington, D.C.

Sen. Murkowski refers to the tea party as a very fringe element of the GOP. The senator should make no mistake — this fringe element kicked her butt once and may very well do it again.
