Aces: Mazz is new captain (Can you name the previous 7?)

Posted by DOYLE WOODY, on October 25, 2013

Alaska Aces coach Rob Murray in his pregame radio interview from Las Vegas tonight named center Nick Mazzolini the hockey club's new captain.

Mazzolini last season led the Aces in damn near everything and was second-team All-ECHL.

He'll probably need to tone down his occasional barks at the dude wearing the stripe, but Mazzolini seems like a solid choice. He plays a ton of minutes, plays in all situations, in consistent in his preparation and performance, and -- The Blog likes this -- is insightful and has a sense of humor.

Murray named penalty-killing mainstay Jordan Kremyr and newcomer Brendan Connolly as alternate captains.

So, put on your big Cowbell Crew brain and see if you can name the seven guys who wore the "C'' for the Alaska Aces before Mazzolini. C'mon, the last two captains, who each served one season, oughta be gimmes.

We'll give you a bit before we give you a history lesson in Aces' captains in later blog post.
