Just a quick note to drop some hockey knowledge -- what little these fingers are capable of after covering Soldotna's 56-49 championship football win over Juneau, which damn near gave The Blog carpal tunnel syndrome -- about events tonight.

Former NHLer Joey Crabb of Anchorage -- the Florida Panthers assigned him to the AHL after he played one game for them -- finally got off the schneid for San Antonio, racking one goal and one helper in a 4-2 win over Oklahoma City. He owns 1-3--4 totals in six games.

In the NAHL, our man Tyler Andrews of Anchorage and the Kenai River Brown Bears got all offensive, landing two goals and a helper in a 3-1 win at Wenatchee. Both goals came on the power play. Also, Kenai River's Alec Butcher of Anchorage furnished one goal and one assist. His 9-10--19 totals in 14 games puts him in a three-way tie for the league scoring lead.

The NAHL's Fairbanks Ice Dogs got one point from 10 different guys, and 20 saves from Patrick Munson, to record a 4-2 road win against the Minnesota Magicians.
