UAA cross country named GNAC team of the week

After a big weekend at the Great Northwest Athletic Conference championship meet, the UAA cross-country running team earned team-of-the-week honors in the GNAC. 

The Seawolves swept GNAC men’s and women’s titles for the second straight season in Monmouth, Ore., where Susan Tanui picking up her second straight women’s individual title and Isaac Kangogo won an individual title for the men.

Tanui and Kangogo were each named GNAC cross-country athlete of the year, with UAA’s Joyce Kipchumba being named women’s newcomer of the year and Victory Samoei named men’s freshman of the year.

Next up for UAA is the Division II West Regional meet in Spokane, Wash., on Nov. 9.
