The Anchorage School District is holding a series of public meetings aimed at soliciting feedback from the community on how to close a projected $21 million budget gap for the 2014-2015 school year.

The "budget guidance conversations" will be held:

  • Wednesday, Nov. 6 at Clark Middle School, 6 p.m.
  • Thursday, Nov. 7 at Gruening Middle School, 6 p.m.
  • Saturday, Nov. 9 at Hanshew Middle School, 1 p.m.
The district says the gap is caused by flat funding paired with cost increases in utilities, supplies and wages.

ASD leaders will also present a six-year financial outlook and plan to the Anchorage School Board Monday.

The board meets at 6:30 p.m. at the ASD Education Center, located at 5530 East Northern Lights Boulevard.
