Kenai River's Alec Butcher of Anchorage bags NAHL monthly honor

Kenai River Brown Bears forward Alec Butcher of Anchorage, runner-up for the NAHL's Forward of the Month award in September, did one better this time around -- he won the October award.

Butcher, 19, in seven games in October racked 4-7--11 totals and a +10 rating.

He leads the circuit in scoring with 10-13--23 totals in 17 games, and his 62 shots on goal rank third in the league.

The 5-foot-11, 175-pounder is tied for fourth in the league in plus-minus at +14. He owns 3-6--9 totals on the power play.

Kenai River (12-5-0) sits one point out of first place in the Midwest Division.

The Brown Bears wraps seven straight road games when they visit the Fairbanks Ice Dogs (10-7-0) for games Friday and Saturday nights.
