UAF beats Lake Superior, 3-2 in OT

Posted by DOYLE WOODY, on November 9, 2013

Safe to say Joey Davies will always fondly remember his first college goal.

The UAF freshman forward struck for the magic marker in overtime tonight, sending the Nanooks to a 3-2 win at Lake Superior State.

Defensemen Colton Parayko and Michael Quinn assisted, giving each a team-high seven helpers in 10 games this season.

UAF never trailed. Cody Kunyk's first-period, power-play goal marked his 99th career point. Freshman Marcus Basara scored his fourth goal of the season in the second period -- that's tops among first-year Nanooks.

John Keeney made 27 saves for UAF.

UAF is 5-3-2 overall and 2-2-0 in the Western Collegiate Hockey Association.
