TUESDAY

Little Nordic Ski Club, Kincaid Outdoor Center, 9401 Raspberry Road. A class for children to learn to country ski. No experience is necessary. Choose evening or Saturday practice. Practice locations may change according to snow/weather conditions. Skiers need to provide their own equipment. Parent meetings are held the first meeting of the session. WEDNESDAY

Wildlife Wednesdays, 7 p.m., Alaska Zoo Gateway Building, 4731 O'Malley Road. Stay scientifically enriched this winter on the second Wednesday of each month at the Alaska Zoo Gateway Lecture Hall. Lectures cover a different topic on wildlife research in Alaska. Lectures are aimed toward an older audience, adults with an interest in science. Alaska Outdoors Weekly Hiking, 6:30 p.m., Hilltop Ski Area parking lot, 7015 Abbott Road. Join other outdoor enthusiasts for a challenging hike. Meeting location changes every week. $1 for non-members. (770-0440, www.alaska-outdoors.org)

SATURDAY

Archery 101, 10:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m., Kincaid Park Annex Bunker, Raspberry Road. Have fun learning to shoot target archery for free. Youth/adult instruction with emphasis on safety. Open to anyone who is interested. All children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Come to the wax bunker near the chalet at Kincaid Park. All equipment is supplied by NWA. Turkey Trot, 1:30-3 p.m., Lidia Selkregg Chalet, Lidia Selkregg Lane. The feathers are flying and turkeys are running everywhere, but can you catch one? Win prizes if you can catch the right feather. Cook Inlet Chapter's Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation Banquet, 5-10 p.m., Egan Convention Center, 555 W. Fifth Ave. Since 1984, the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation has protected and enhanced millions of acres of wildlife habitat. Join your fellow hunter-conservationists for a great evening of food, fun and fundraising at an RMEF Big Game Banquet. Alaska Nordic Racing Anchorage Masters Program, 6:30-8 p.m., Kincaid Outdoor Center, 9401 Raspberry Road. Alaska Nordic Racing will continue to build on their repertoire of drills, increased level of fitness, and introduce new methods like filming for technique feedback. Session 1 runs Nov. 18-Dec. 20, with practices Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays at Kincaid and Hillside Parks. Private lessons available upon request. (www.alaskanordicracing.org/masters.html)

Muni Masters Early Season, 7-8:30 p.m., Kincaid Outdoor Center, 9401 Raspberry Road. This ski program is for adults who wish to improve their physical condition meet new ski partners, and improve their skate skiing skills. The program will cover skating techniques, training, personal goals and introduction to ski racing and tours. Early season session is from Nov. 16-Dec. 9. For ages 18 and older. $45.
