Letter: Tennis, anyone? Not so much

November 19, 2013

Mayor Dan wants to save money? Buy the Alaska Club North facility. This is a no-brainer.

The real problem appears to be its (gasp!) Mountain View location, not Turnagain. The Turnagain location, near West High, serves a neighborhood that already has West High’s pool, athletic fields, gym and is walking distance from Westchester Lagoon. Mountain View has nothing but a small community rec center and a library. Let’s do the right thing, for a change, and truly serve all the people — buy the Alaska Club North, and use the remaining money for renovating the ice rinks.

I’m sure the MV kids would love those free tennis lessons, by the way.
