Congress has managed to “kick the can down the road” again and again. Important presidential appointments, important budget items, immigration and so many other decisions are stacking up — waiting for congressional action on some other day.
Did we elect Congress to continually defer action down the road? What’s the solution?
And it isn’t only Congress. Our governor has decided to reject the opportunity to expand Medicaid as part of the Affordable Care Act. His decision denies over 40,000 low income Alaskans who are currently without health care the chance to be covered.
Meanwhile, he and his family enjoy full health care coverage under the state plan.
